Luffy And One Piece Anime Flag in Indonesia

 What's wrong with this One Piece's flag in Indonesian 80's independence day celebration on August 17, 2025? 

A few days ago I drew this fan art drawing. With Luffy holding 2 flags facing 3 big characters which represent greed (pig), corruption (rat) and play (clown). Big or giant shapes are as powerful, animals and clowns as their behavior and deeds - being greedy, corrupt and playing with people's lives. Their ears are covered because they don't want to hear and tend to ignore others. and Luffy as a symbol of hope everyone is wishing to have although it is nearly impossible. 

It was meant for criticism, expression and agony of what is currently happening in one big nation close to my heart and mind. Instead of taking care of its citizens and making them live in peace, a bunch of people with power choose to shake their lives badly to the core. Fiction is mostly a reflection of reality and a true hero is needed to turn it upside down for good. However, sadly, in real life it's not that easy and simple with a fairy happy ending. Disclaimer: This drawing is Not having even the slightest intention to do something as to fight or provoke people but to raise awareness and hope that those who have the power will  come to their senses and have a heart to do something better for the sake of this country. 

80 years of independence is not a short amount of time to reflect, learn, revise, rebuild this country for the better. This is a wealthy and super rich country with natural resources and abundant young generations to work together with good leaders. If only they can work this out. Is it a dream? For now, it seems so. A far cry for a bright future and prosperous nation in the hands of shallow minded people who only think of their bellies and families. I pray I can wake up from this nightmare soon. 

As the former 1st president Soekarno once said: My fight was easier because it was to expel the colonizers, but your fight will be more difficult because it is against your own people.

Demon Slayer: Kibutsuji Muzan x Tsugikuni Yoriichi - An example of human's utmost good side and bad side

 Now let's discuss about Kibutsuji muzan and tsugikuni yoriichi.  They are the 2 strongest but opposing characters in the Demon Slayer/Kimetsu no Yaiba story. 

 Kibutsuji Muzan is the main antagonist who represents human nature at its worst which he is a selfish, narcissistic demon who has the principle of living only for himself without caring about how many parties suffer and are harmed by him.  His obsession is the craziest side of humans with all their greed for eternal life, but being young, very strong, able to do whatever they want and being rich.  In fact, he doesn't hesitate to kill anyone who gets in his way.  Even though he still has a fatal weakness that continues to haunt him even though he has lived for more than 1000 years, a weakness that makes whatever he achieves feel meaningless if it disappears without a trace, including himself.  He was a scary figure and hated by everyone.  

Meanwhile, Tsugikuni Yoriichi is 180 degrees opposite to Muzan.  He comes from a prominent family but has great empathy and was willing to give in for his brother, abandoning all ambitions to occupy an important position even though he was born a genius and tragically he also has to lose everyone he loves.  Despite all that, he did not change but remained a selfless person, always helping those around him until the end of his life. He'd never prioritized wealth, power, strength but only wanted to live in peace.  Even though being a good person is not always rewarded in the end, he didn't change.  Thus making him a legendary and memorable figure.  He was also the only figure who made Muzan felt insecure because he would almost perished if he didn't escape quickly like a true coward.  

So what lesson can we take from here?  Always be a good person no matter what happens because karma never makes a mistake and this world is not eternal and life has an end.  Don't follow your desires which will lead you to negative things.

Detective Conan/ Case closed: A Manga that had spanned over 30 years!

 I've watched this anime for the first time on local television and it was great. The theme, the story and criminal cases were intriguing. It goes both ways with the main plot and the stand-alone cases.

There are a lot of info for this manga/anime which already published and aired for 30 years this year. There is no sign of stopping anytime soon though. Therefore for those who wait whether the main character will be able to move on with his life or stay the same is still unknown until when.

About NaruSaku and Naruto continuation

 Hmm, I'm amazed that after all these years, some people are still checking out my blog just to read my old narusaku doujinshis. I'm grateful and thankful for everyone who did read it. :) 

Naruto was once my favorite manga and I was so into it especially narusaku until the faithful day of the unwanted ending in my taste. I know it was the author's right to do whatever he wanted with it, but as a once hardcore fan, I couldn't accept it and prefer to just let it go. The story was great, the characters, the plot and everything except the ending. I admire the art too. This was my old pencil drawing that I recolored digitally a few years ago. And about the continuation from the story about naruto and his friends' children, I chose not to read or care because it is simply done for me. I drew some more narusaku fan arts for fellow fan service which I might upload it here later or when I have the right time.

By the way today is my birthday and instead of celebrating it, I chose to post 2 articles here :D.

A thought after reading Attack on titan chapter 138

 Well, this came to me on an instant after reading the surprising and full of twist Attack on Titan / Shingeki no Kyojin latest chapter. I was gonna draw Mikasa looking through a peaceful green field of hope as she was the only obvious survivor from all of chaos but then I changed my mind half way. I do hope levi, annie - armin survived as well though.  

The drawing was a mere speed-paint drawing I did on a whim.

Manga/Comic interpretation from S.O.S Japanese drama

I happened to like this Japanese drama (S.O.S/ Strawberry On the Shortcake). I thought my favorite manga Naruto would ended up like this one since it would be more reasonable. But apparently Kishi didn't have the same idea.

My idea of Konoha's Next Generation Became Untrue

It's still sad for me to find out that the end is just like turned my love into hate for this manga. I felt devastated to see it. Let's say all these years felt like wasted just like that. This is not based on my personal shipping of NaruSaku only, but more to how I feel about common Japanese story I've read and watched throughout these years. I even made a research paper for my undergraduate degree using manga as teaching media and technique in high school. I'm a big fan of Japanese culture from manga, anime, drama, movie, music and even language itself.

Some of my favorite shonen manga showed similar pattern to any drama and movie I've watched (hundreds of them). Most of them ended up loving someone who are closed to them, together with them most of the time and can be who they are with that precious person. They learned to see each other grew and developed over times. For example, HSD Kenichi, Shirahama kenichi was a bullied kid at school by his friends because he didn’t know how to defend himself until one day he saw Furinji Miu who showed him an extraordinary martial art skill to protect him and herself from some evil people. He then encouraged learning martial art although his masters told him he has no talent in it. He’d never given up in learning his best until his rivals acknowledged him including the girl he fell for, Miu. Another example is Inuyasha, he has bitter past with his loved ones, but ended up together with Kagome who like him since the first time they met. How? Through times and spent most of their moments together until those feeling eventually reciprocated in each other. Actually the pattern showed in Bleach and Naruto between Ichigo and Rukia or Naruto and Sakura. But then again, it’s Kishi’s privilege to go away from the pattern. Either he was merely rooting for Toriyama’s Dragon Ball or even Harry Potter, who knows.    

I just have to keep in mind; maybe next time I just read a one shot manga or finished manga to know is it worth to keep or tossed away. My friend told me to make my own ending but I just feel like losing the mood to do it, because it’s not real. Unless, I can turn it out like Fifty Shades of Grey’s author who went from Twilight fan-fiction into her own story and character although it came with many controversies about the content. Anyway, there’s no possibility to feel better since the real ending was done. I just hope deep inside, Kishi will have this thought as JK Rowling’s when she revealed about her tendency to pair Harry with Hermione. That someday he said, actually I prefer Naruto to end up with Sakura, the one he loves from the beginning. Oh well, this is just my rant.

martial art fighter's spirits

This was my drawing for once competition for a poster actually, but in the end it's just became another drawing collection of mine.The idea was to draw a fighter with a spirit from Bruce Lee, Wong Fei hung and Guan You (if I'm not mistaken). Just another drawing of mine other than manga.
